Rodney James Evans

Rodney J. Evans, native of Marion, AL. resident of Huntsville, AL. answered the master's call on February 27, 2025.  Rodney James Evans Sr. was born at the Hale County Hospital to Madison

and Alice Evans Hedgemon on April 18, 1975. Rodney accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Zion Church. He went to school at Francis Marion High School, in Marion, AL.

He graduated from Alabama A&M University. He worked as an Educator at Mae Jemison High School, in Huntsville, AL. He was involved in a host of activities and organizations.

Rodney is preceded in death by his granddaughter (Clover Grace Evans-Pierce). Rodney is survived by his Father Pastor Madison Junior (Joeanne) Evans of Phenix City, AL, Mother Alice

(Samual deceased) Hedgemon of Tuscaloosa, AL., three children, Alisson Evans of Millbrook, AL, Rodney Evans Jr. and Tony Morton of Madison, AL. Two sisters Latrice and

Angela Evans of Tuscaloosa, AL and one brother Brandon Evans of Kentucky, one God son Shaqueal Arrington Sr. Ft. Wayne, Indiana, four stepsisters, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces,

nephews, cousins, and friends.

Rodney Evans also has an extended family in Huntsville, AL that he considered as family and friend. Special Lady Friend, Vonda Johnson and Family, Kenny Roberts and Family, Patrick Mauldin

and Family, Bette Moore and Family, Dr. Leverette and Family, and the Huntsville City School System, Melvin Reed, Todd Williams, and the Class of 1993.

Rodney Evans visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2025, from 10AM-5PM. The family hour will be held from 5PM-6PM in the chapel at Ashley's Lee &Rollins Funeral Home. Homegoing

celebration will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 1 PM at Marion Baptist Academy. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. Tabor Churchyard Cemetery. The compassionate staff and

management at Ashley's Lee & Rollins extend our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers to the entire Evans & Hedgemon families.
